About Us
Who we are
Symptom Advisory is an independent health-information publisher based in the United States. We are a small editorial operation, not a hospital, clinic, insurer or telehealth company. Nobody pays us to feature a product, drug, device or provider.
What we publish
Three things, and nothing else:
- Symptom and condition guides — what a symptom usually means, what it can also mean, and the specific signs that mean you should stop reading and get care.
- Cost breakdowns — what treatments, procedures, devices and medications actually cost in the US in 2026, including insurance coverage, cash-pay pricing and the fees that get left off quotes.
- Device and service reviews — consumer health hardware (CGMs, blood-pressure cuffs, smart rings) judged on published validation data, not marketing claims.
How our content is produced
We are open about this because you deserve to know: our drafts are produced with AI-assisted research and writing tools, and every draft is then fact-checked and edited by a human before it is published. No page goes live unchecked.
For each article we:
- Pull the current position of primary sources — CDC, NIH/NLM, FDA, USPSTF, AHA/ACC, ACOG, NICE, Cochrane and peer-reviewed journals.
- Verify every number, dose, price and guideline statement against the named source, and link that source at the bottom of the page.
- Remove anything we cannot verify. If the evidence is weak or contested, we say so in plain words instead of picking a side.
- Re-review pages when a guideline, price or product changes, and stamp the page with the date of the last review.

What we are not
We are not your doctor. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prescription, or a substitute for care from a licensed clinician who can examine you. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
